The Styer-Fitzgerald Program Training

​Training teachers and other classroom staff is an important part of effective implementation.  Educators are given access to six detailed training videos with the purchase of the Styer-Fitzgerald Program for Functional Academics. Log in information is provided on the Useful Information sheet included with the Teaching Package.

Intensive 3-day Train-the-Trainer (in the Greater Seattle Area)

Train-the-Trainer Details
Each school district’s attendee(s) will be trained as implementation trainers for The Styer-Fitzgerald Functional Academics Program.

• The attendees will be prepared to train district staff to administer the placement assessment, teach the curriculum, and collect and use progress data.
• The training covers assessing students, appropriate placement in the curriculum, teaching procedures, creating and updating IEP’s, on-going progress data collection, reporting, and related topics such as classroom organization and modifications.
• The training includes presentations, hands-on practice, interactive application to your district’s specific needs, and, as available, classroom observations in local schools. 
• A free 1 hour follow-up Q & A webinar with the trainer is provided to answer questions after implementation has been underway for a period of time.  It is scheduled based on your district’s needs (and trainer availability). 
• Train-the-Trainer cost* is $900 per person and includes training materials for the attendees to use when training within their district.
• Travel, food, and lodging to be covered by the attendee(s) school or district.

On-site District-wide Training Details
Intended for end users of the Styer-Fitzgerald Program for Functional Academics.  (See the Train-the-Trainer option for training district staff to be in-district trainers.)

• The training covers the basics of administering the assessment, teaching the curriculum, including scheduling instruction, and collecting and reporting on-going progress data.   The amount of time spent on each topic can be tailored to meet your school or district’s needs.
• PowerPoint®  slides will be provided prior to the training for copying or electronic distribution to attendees.
• The cost* is $110 per person per day with a minimum of 10 participants or $1000 per day with fewer than 10 participants.
• The school or district is responsible for providing lodging, transportation, mileage, meals and/or airfare if needed for the trainer(s).  Specifics will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
• The school or district schedules the room and makes amenities arrangements.  

Note:  Classroom teams are encouraged, assuming that the teachers have paraprofessional or other help in their classrooms. The training of teams greatly strengthens implementation. Administrators are welcome to drop in as guests of the training.

District Requested Consultations

• On site classroom observation and feedback tailored to district-identified areas of focus or needs.
• Half Day—$500 per consultant. 
• Full Day—$1000 per consultant. 
• The district is responsible for providing mileage (at the current IRS reimbursement rate), meals, lodging, and airfare as needed for the trainer(s). Specifics will be determined on a case-by-case basis.
